Series IN-2000 Ambient/Safety Ozone Analyzer

IN USA, Inc. has introduced the Series IN-2000, a single- or multi-channel analyzer designed to measure ambient ozone levels in water and wastewater treatment, semiconductor manufacturing, and many other industries in a wide variety of safety-related applications. It is also well suited for stack gas ozone monitoring to assess ozone destruct unit performance and measure plant ozone emissions.

Ozone is now being used in numerous industrial processes, and it has become increasingly necessary to measure ambient (TLV) ozone in areas around generators, process chambers, gas exhaust systems, and enclosed gas delivery systems in order to monitor worker exposure to ozone to meet OSHA requirements (0.3 ppm short-term; 0.1 ppm long-term), detect leaks, and provide automatic control of processes and equipment. The IN-2000 combines state-of-the-art sensor design, microprocessor-based measurement and control circuitry, and numerous features and options to achieve a level of performance and ease of use that sets the standard for TLV ozone measurement.

The IN-2000 is designed for reliability, ease of use, and low maintenance. A UV (ultraviolet) absorption cell makes an absolute measurement of ozone concentration that is ozone specific. Unlike electrochemical-based ozone sensors, the UV cell is not affected by background contaminants in the sample gas. The UV lamp is thermostatically-controlled to compensate for aging effects and easily replaced in the field if necessary. A built-in catalyst completely eliminates the sample ozone, thereby prolonging sample pump life for many years and permitting easy disposal of the sample gas. The IN-2000 is provided with a certificate of calibration traceable to NIST and is self-calibrating during operation. It also provides continuous internal diagnostics and outputs user-friendly status messages.

The IN-2000 is designed for versatility in a wide variety of environments. It is available in 1, 3, and 5-channel configurations. The multi-channel versions utilize a built-in, field-programmable gas manifold and automatic sequencer and provide the user with convenient multi-point measurement, minimal panel space requirements, and greatly reduced cost per measurement point. The IN-2000 provides multi-range measurement capability from 0 to 1 ppm to 0 to 1000 ppm. Standard features include an alphanumeric vacuum fluorescent display, 0-1 VDC and 4-20 mA analog outputs, RS232 digital communications, two programmable FORM C alarm relays, and an instrument status alarm relay. The IN-2000 is supplied in bench-top, 19" rack, and NEMA-4X/IP65 mounting configurations. Higher operating ranges (>1000 ppm) and custom configurations are available upon request. A flow sensor is also available.
